Neurology, Epilepsy & Neurophysiology
Board-certified neurology clinician with 33 years of practice, including 22 years at the USC School of Medicine. Former Chief of Neurology at LAC+USC Medical Center, a level 1 trauma center, and later Chief of Neurology at the Loma Linda VA Medical Center with an academic appointment at Loma Linda University. He holds medical licenses in over half of the US states.
Comfortable as a general neurologist while subspecialized in epilepsy and epilepsy surgery. He completed an NIH fellowship in epilepsy and clinical neurophysiology, was board certified in both subspecialties, served on the epilepsy surgery team at USC and directed the EEG lab at LAC+USC.
He has published roughly 100 articles, abstracts and book chapters, including work on the clinical evaluation of head trauma, and has cared for significant TBI populations across USC and a 30-year VA career, now including chemical and toxic exposure under the PACT Act.
An Associate Professor of Neurology at USC and Loma Linda, he has delivered over 200 CME presentations and spoken at more than 500 educational events. He has served as an expert witness in medical-legal cases, including for the California Attorney General's Office and the federal court, where hospital peer review experience is particularly useful.
