Psychological evaluations for civil and medico-legal cases, including trauma, PTSD, emotional distress, and psychological injury.
Forensic psychological evaluations apply psychological expertise to questions that arise in legal matters. Depending on the referral question, an evaluation may involve clinical interviewing, psychological testing, review of relevant records, and collateral information. The goal is to provide an objective, evidence-based assessment of psychological functioning and its relevance to the specific legal issues at hand.
Forensic evaluations may address questions related to psychiatric diagnosis, the impacts of trauma, psychological injury and emotional distress, functional impairment, risk, and the relationship between mental health symptoms and legally relevant events. Evaluations may be conducted in both civil and criminal matters and can include consultation, written reports, deposition, and expert testimony when appropriate.
